Do you believe in global warming? climate change? nature destruction? Or are you just one that ignores it?

In the years that humanity has made rapid advances, especially the marvelous come of technology, distances are not a hindrance and makes everything efficient. An evolution in the last few hundred years was described as a blink of an eye; however, the haste of change that made impacts to make our lives better, we dismissed the long-term consequences that we may face.

Today, I want to talk about what we can do for a change, to transform these fast and vast evolving advances and operate in harmony with nature. I am an environmentalist, a young leader, that strives for a better future and inspires the youth to act, adapt to Sustainability, and call for accountability.

Three consequences put us in peril. I want you to understand why we already need quick but sure action to adopt Sustainability: climate change, loss of natural biodiversity, and Waste pollution.

These three are the significant problems that we are paying right now.

The first is climate change. In the last 800,000 years, consequences have risen because of the blanketing of greenhouse emissions to the earth, and it traps the sun heat, which causes global warming. The effect: Summer heatwaves, Growing storms, drought, plagues, and forest fires. And the breaking point is Permafrost is disappearing and less reflected sunlight but more heating due to melting ice, and it warms up our oceans. As Inger Andersen said, “We face a system cascade that will send global temperatures through the roof.”

Next is the Loss of Nature biodiversity. Due to burning our forest’s land turning into cities and building infrastructures, biodiversity has gone and lost. Don’t you observe? There is nothing that much we see upon the skies, no birds chirping, pollinating bugs, and insects. The songbirds have been replaced by planes. This loss is a threat to our very own survival. We are degrading the source and foundation of our well-being, water, food, temperature, and a lot more.

And last for the three consequences is Waste Pollution. The emissions that come from vehicles, plastic waste, and overproduction of goods cause the thin and dirty air that we are breathing right now.

Friends, I want you to understand these three. We are now experiencing a planetary crisis. We are already informed for decades about these problems,

but how come we still ignore them? The core of these is unsustainability. We always extract from our natural resources but never care and just for the sake of goods. No matter how badly we treat it, we still expect the planet to keep on giving. We can’t keep doing this. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to the three global issues. We can only go so far with technology. No country, corporation, investment, or person can achieve it alone. Let us not wait for more significant impacts to come before we act. Let’s work in unity and together with the adoption of Sustainability. Surely this will help us fight our planetary crisis.
